Staples’ Black Friday deals include deals on the Amazon Echo Dot and Windows PCs

Staples is joining the ever-increasing crowd of retailers infringing on Thanksgiving this year. For those willing to brave the store after a holiday meal, the retailer has some appealing deals on the Amazon Echo Dot and Google Chromecast, along with discounts on the usual slate of of mid-range Windows PCs and printers that the company is known for.

Unlike last year, the company is opening its physical retail locations to customers for Black Friday sales at 6pm on Thursday, November 24th, with deals also available all-day Thursday as well for those who prefer to do their shopping online.

In a new study, led by the University of Southampton and published in The Lancet Global Health , countries have been ranked according to how much research and non-research funding they receive from major public and philanthropic global health funders to combat the disease. The study examined the portfolios of several of the major global health research funders and compared funding levels to national malaria-related burden of disease. They could not find any investment for malaria research in countries such as Sierra Leone, Mauritania, Chad, Congo and Central African Republic.
